January 23, we will be walking to Hollins to see a production of
Kevin Henkes story, Lillie's Purple Plastic Purse.
Parents are welcome to join us. We will be walking over at 9:50 for
a 10:15 show.

Warm Clothes
for Winter Weather
Please
be sure to send your child to school wearing warm clothes for
cold-weather play. Mittens, hats, scarves, and even snow pants
(when applicable) all make recess time more comfortable and fun! |

The
People of Peace students in the middle school are collecting
donations for the Roanoke Valley S.P.C.A. Please allow your child
to bring in an item to donate. They are collecting food, treats,
and toys for cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies. Please send in your
donations by February 8th. |

Valentine's
Day Party
On
Thursday the 14th of February, we will be having a
Valentine's Day party in our classroom. Some parents have already
signed up to help with the party. We will send a note with
specifics to those parents. We are asking that each child bring in
a covered shoe box to use as a “mailbox”. Cover both the lid and
the box with plain construction paper so that the lid can still be
removed. Please do not decorate the box; we will decorate them in
class. Please send in the box by Friday, February 8th. |

for Valentines
Below is a list
of the students in our classes. Please be sure to help your child
make a valentine for each student. Please send the completed
valentines to school by Tuesday, February 12. We will deliver them
to everyone's shoe box “mailboxes” on the day of the party.
