As many of you know, tuition at Community
School does not cover the actual cost of educating our children.
Approximately $1,400 per child is raised through various fundraising
efforts such as the annual fund appeal,Kroger Gift Cards and Food
Lion Shop and Share Programs, Target Take Charge of Education
Program, Campbell's Labels for Education, Box Tops for Education,
and FundingFactory Recycling Programs. Thank you for your
participation and support.
Kroger
Fundraising Program
We participate
in the Kroger Gift Card fundraising program. If you choose to
participate in this program, you can purchase a Kroger gift card at
Community School that works in the same way as a debit card. Here
are the details…
Kroger gift
cards are available in the
Community
School office
for a cost of $5.00 per card. You can also purchase a card directly
from Kroger and have it linked to Community School at the service
desk. If you already have a Kroger Gift Card, it can be linked to
Community School at the Service Desk.
These cards work
like debit cards that are linked to Community School. Participants
can fill up the Kroger Gift Card by check, debit or credit card at
the Service Desk or at check out. You control the amount you put on
the card and when. They also work at Kroger gas pumps!
Kroger keeps
track of the amounts purchased on the cards linked to our school.
Each month the Community School receives a check for 5% of the total
amount spent by our families.
This program
requires families take the extra step of placing funds on the card
on a regular basis, or at least prior to check-out. As long as the
card is purchased through the school or linked to the school,
Community School will benefit.
There are no
additional costs to the school or to our families to participate in
this program. The initial cost to purchase this card is a credit on
the card. So your new card will have a balance of $5.00…you can go
to your local Kroger and add more cash at either the checkout or the
service desk.
These cards can
be used at Kroger and the following affiliated grocery stores: City
Market, Dillons, Fry’s, Gerbes, Hilander, King Soopers, Owen’s,
Quick Stop Market, Loaf ‘N Jug, Tom Thumb Mini Mart, Kwik Shop,
Turkey Hill Minit Markets, Minit Mart, and Pay Less Supermarkets.
Food Lion MVP Card
You can link
your Food Lion MVP Card to Community School. Forms
are available in the office, or you can go on-line at
www.foodlion.com and create your own link with your card by
clicking on “Lion Shop And Share” under Community Partners in
the left-hand column.
Quarterly, Food
Lion donates a portion from your purchases to Community School.
Box Tops for Education
The Box Tops for
Education program can earn cash for Community School every time you
buy groceries. Just look for the Boxtops for Education logo on many
of your favorite products and clip them off. The program has three
easy steps:
Clip Box Tops
Coupons from Participating Products – they are printed on hundreds
of General Mills products throughout the grocery store. You will
find Box Tops on many brands you use every day.
Send Your Box
Tops Coupons to School – turn them in at the “Box Tops for
Education” bucket located in the office at
Community
School. A
parent coordinator will process and submit them to General Mills.
Community School
Gets a Check – General Mills will send Community School a check for
the value each Box Tops Coupon redeemed. Generally, coupons are
valued at .10, but watch for special promotions in your grocery
store, and check cash register receipts—sometimes additional values
will print out, and you would send the receipt in to school.
Campbell’s Labels for
Education
Save Campbell’s,
Swanson, Franco-American, Market Day, and Pepperidge Farms labels,
and Prego and V-8 lids from your groceries.
Send your Labels
and Lids to School – Turn in your labels/lids at the bucket located
in the office at Community School. A parent coordinator will
process and submit them to Campbell’s.
Community School
Gets Points – Campbell’s will credit Community School with points to
redeem for merchandise. Watch for special promotions and products
that carry 5-point values!
Target Take Charge of
Education Program
Community School
participates in the Target Take Charge of Education program.
Through this program, Target donates 1% of all Target charge card
purchases to the school designated by cardholders. To help us in
these efforts, all you need to do is have a Target charge card and
then designate Community School to receive the proceeds.
Amazon.com
Community School
will earn money from all products purchased via the
Community
School website
link
to Amazon.com. You must do your shopping through the Community
School website link; money earned from this program supports
technology purchases for the school. The items in the "ads" within
the link are published by the Amazon server and not chosen by C.S.
They will change from time-to-time. You are by no means limited to
the items on this page. If you do not see what you are looking for,
use the "Search Amazon" box. This is a great way to ask friends and
family to participate, especially for holiday shopping!
FundingFactory Recycling
Program
Community School
participates with Funding Factory Cartridge and Cell Pone Recycling
Programs. These programs are free and easy: simply donate your
empty printer cartridges and used cell phones to Community School
and we’ll take it from there! We recycle the cartridges and cell
phones through the Funding Factory to earn points, which we can
exchange for new technology equipment. Please donate your cell
phones and cartridges by placing them in the collection box found
just inside the office door.
**Boxes are also
available upon request for parents to take to collect cartridges and
cell phones at their place of business. They can bring the full
boxes back to school or call for pick-up from their place of
business.** |
