Jennifer Hollingsworth-Austin is a native of Roanoke where she
lives with her husband and two sons (both enrolled at Community
School). She received both her B.A. and M.A. from Hollins
University. During her tenure at Hollins she was elected to Phi
Beta Kappa, the national liberal arts honor society, and Phi
Alpha Theta, the national history honor society. Additionally,
she is a published poet who recently completed her second novel.
She enjoys the outdoors, painting, woodworking, gardening, and
generally any activity that makes a mess.
She joined the Community School staff in 1999 and teaches
both integrated English and history to the Seminar class as well
as word study and grammar workshop to the entire middle school.
