Education: B.F.A., Dance from Kent State University and M.F.A., Dance from Hollins University Years of Service: Since 2018 Hobbies/Interests: Gina Kohler is a mom, artist, teacher, writer and loves to cook. She has been performing and teaching internationally for 17 years. She received her Yoga teaching certification from White Lotus and has been teaching Yoga for 13 years. Kohler has taught for many years in New York City and as Guest Artist at many universities and locations. She moved to Roanoke to work at Hollins University as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the Graduate program in dance from 2013-2016. Kohler works with world-renowned dance companies and her work has been presented multiple times as the keynote performance for the Society of Dance History Scholars conferences, as well as at festivals and theaters nationally. She currently works as a Dramaturge for Wideman-Davis Dance, based at the University of South Carolina and is a collaborator of SLIPPAGE performance group, based at Duke University. Gina is honored to be working at the Community School.
