1) Corrie Williamson (Seminar class of 2000) is a recent graduate of the MFA Program at the University of Arkansas, where she taught, directed the Writers in the Schools Program, and was a Walton Fellow in Poetry. Her poems have appeared lately in The Journal, Waccamaw, Rattle, The Carolina QuarterlyThrush, and Shenandoah, which awarded her their James Boatwright Prize for Poetry. She lives in Helena, Montana, where she will start this month as a full-time instructor at Helena College, University of Montana, teaching public speaking, world literature, and nature and society.

2) In December, our graduates took two of the top three places in the local Shakespeare Competition of the English-Speaking Union. Second place went to Eric Sutton (Seminar class of 2010) from Community High School of Arts and Academics. He quoted from Much Ado About Nothing, Benedick (IIi) and quoted Sonnet #23. Third place went to Anne Peyton Brothers (Seminar class of 2011) from Patrick Henry High School who quoted Julia from The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Iii), and quoted Sonnet #147.
