1) Sarah Cohen is graduating from University of Pittsburgh Medical School and will be doing her internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center.

2) Joseph Hirst (Seminar class of 2007) graduated from Virginia Tech with Honors in December and plans to attend medical school. Presently, he is enjoying a gap year during which he is shadowing local physicians and completing his medical school applications. He hopes to specialize in oncology.

3) Yasmine Anderson (Seminar class of 2007) is graduating from University of Virginia with a major in English and a minor in film studies. She will be attending University of Chicago in the fall for her Master of Arts in the Humanities.

4) Kate Bondurant just graduated with her Master of Public Policy from University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.

5) Bonnie Wei (Seminar class of 2007) just graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a degree in psychology and plans to pursue a degree in clinical psychology.

6) Christina Smith (Seminar class of 2007) completed an associate’s degree in general studies at VWCC and is now working towards a degree in early childhood education. She hopes to open her own childcare center.

7) Callie Richards (Seminar class of 2007) is working on her associate’s degree in general education from VWCC and plans to continue on for a degree in either music or communication studies.

8) Brittany Strider (Seminar class of 2006) completed an eight-month deployment in Afghanistan as an army intelligence analyst and is now living in Ohio and working as a human resources specialist for the army.

9) Debra Kurshan (Seminar class of 1991) is currently working as an education consultant for The Parthenon Group – EY. She has a B.A. in Urban Studies from University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

10) Jonathan Kurshan (Seminar class of 1994) is working as a project manager for Yelp.com. He has a B.S. in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s in global politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

11) Nora Winter (Seminar class of 2004) completed her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Radford University and is working in the fraud division of Wells Fargo.

12) Erica Hodgin (Seminar class of 1991) is working as Associate Director and Educational Researcher for Civic Engagement Research Group, Mills College. She has a Doctor in Education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, both from Mills College, and a bachelor’s degree in education from Antioch College.

13) Austin Martin is graduating from Community High School and will be attending University of Virginia in the fall to study engineering.
