From Executive Director Linda Roth
Dear Members of our Community,
This school year began with gratitude for brighter and lighter days. It has been wonderful to see our families on campus for Coffee by the Creek, the Family Picnic, and the return of pizza day lunches. Fall Festival excursions returned to pre-Covid days, and we were able to glean turnips and explore regional attractions. Our older students were able to go off-campus for three days and two nights of tent camping. Currently, our classes are abuzz with excitement as our trout eggs hatch, butterflies emerge from their chrysalises, and students are introduced to challenging cooperative projects and new perspectives.
This year, as we incorporate our theme, Piece/Peace Together, we are finding novel ways to connect with our community and to continue to highlight Community School’s initiatives. We are strengthening programs that address the importance of mental health, provide more inclusive access to education, and encourage community involvement. Funds raised through Annual Appeal support these and other items that fall outside of our standard operating budget. With the help of our CS community we will make necessary updates to our communication system, offer counseling services for students and staff, provide support for professional development, and create a speaker fund to widen our exposure to regional and national resources.
Your gift to the Annual Fund, whatever the amount, makes a difference to our students, teachers and staff. Please take the time to visit our website CommunitySchool.net/GIVE to send in your gift or pledge.
With gratitude,
Linda P. Roth
