A Message from Cassie Hunt, Chairman of the Board
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Katrina Hill as Community School’s next Executive Director. A search committee including members of the Board of Trustees and teachers, conducted a national search for Executive Director Linda Roth’s replacement following her retirement this summer, culminating in day-long visits by three finalists. Teachers, parents and students participated in interview sessions and provided feedback to the search committee and the Board.
The Board of Trustees met and accepted the recommendation of the search committee. Katrina was unanimously selected by the Board due to her dedication to progressive education, her innovative approach to teaching and curriculum development, her demonstrated commitment to Community School and its mission and her success in and out of the classroom. She has served as a teacher at CS since 2002 and became Middle School Coordinator in 2018. In addition, Katrina advises the highly successful Model UN program and led the effort for CS to be named a School of Distinction by AMLE in 2022. She is now working closely with Linda to enable a smooth transition.
As we embark on this new phase, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the search committee (Josh Chapman, Karen Childers, Tulie Kaschub, Jay O’Keeffe, and Darla Schumm) for their diligence and dedication throughout the selection process. Their efforts ensured that we found a leader who not only meets but exceeds our expectations for this vital role.
Please join me in welcoming Katrina to her new position this summer. With her guidance and expertise, we will continue to uphold our standards of excellence and provide an unparalleled educational experience for our students.
Cassie Hunt
