October 20, 2020 COVID-19 updates and headlines are everywhere. Recently we were asked why we are not sharing more information about cases at Community School. Thankfully, so far, we have not had any students or staff with a positive diagnosis. Should there be a case, we will let the entire community know as soon as possible by email that we have a case on campus. If specific students or staff have has been in close contact (less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or more masked or unmasked) with a positive case at school, we will notify by phone the parents or staff members who are affected. They will be asked to stay home for 14 days from the date of exposure and to monitor their symptoms. If you are not contacted personally by Linda or Patrick, your child was not in close contact with the positive case and may return to school.
Update: Per the CDC guidelines released October 21, 2020, we now define close contact as being less than 6 feet apart for a total of 15 minutes or more masked or unmasked over the course of a 24-hour period.
