From Executive Director Linda Roth
Dear Families and Friends of Community School,
In early October, I joined the 5–7-year-old classes to watch them release six of the monarchs that had recently emerged from their chrysalises. This is an annual event but always delights the students (and adults), and I love that they can experience the whole life cycle from egg to butterfly. It reminds us that change is constant and that it is necessary to continue to grow and develop, but we can’t rush the process.
After years of planning, we are ready to change the landscape of our campus. We are very excited to finally break ground on our new building which supports our focus on collaboration and integration by bringing together our middle school classes, enrichment classes and administrative offices. It will increase the visibility of our school and foster a welcoming presence. We look forward to sharing our progress throughout this year.
In addition to providing these functional and upgraded workspaces, we must consider our student population and adapt to their needs, both academic and social/emotional. Putting our students at the center of the learning process ensures that we start where they are and work to provide an engaging and challenging curriculum.
This year, we are expanding our extra-curricular activities and programming for our community, renewing our commitment to service learning with outreach, and supporting individual student needs with differentiated activities and materials. Your support of the Annual Fund makes it possible to enhance every student’s Community School experience in these ways.
Please take the time to visit our website CommunitySchool.net/GIVE or use the enclosed envelope to send in your gift or pledge. Your contributions strengthen our school and benefit our students and staff. We appreciate donations of any amount.
With gratitude,
Linda P. Roth
